A survey of forty states shows that the number of
car accident deaths went down in 2008 by an average of ten percent in 2008. What does this number mean to us? It means that in today's world of SUV collisions, tractor-trailer crashes,
dangerous reckless driving, high-speed accidents, car fatalities, and drunk driving accidents, things are getting better and somewhat safer. As New York's top Personal Injury lawyers, we hear all the time about terrible car accidents and
wrongful deaths. Car crashes, injuries and fatalities happen every day. And so, it comes as great news to us that ten percent more lives were saved in 2008.
Critics point out that the lower figures may result from the high gas prices and economic recession, which together, reduced the amount of driving Americans did in 2008. But so what? Even if less driving means fewer personal injuries and car accidents, we are glad. Fewer
car accidents means fewer deaths and deaths. And that is always a good thing.
